ASK DEJA FOR HELP
So much for that plan.
At school the next day, I get a pass to use the library computer lab during study hall. It’s my lucky day: Marisol Tanaka (uber-nerd) is here, and the workstation next to her is empty. I sit beside her and turn on the charm.
“Yo, Marisol.” I smile and chat her up before I pop the question. “What’s your research topic?
“I’m interested in the effect of grass on climate change.”
“What, like weed?”
I laugh.
“Uh–no.” Her mouth twists like she’s suppressing a grin. “Lawns, golf courses, city parks. They use too much water and chemicals. They limit biodiversity. Plus, lawn mowers are major polluters.”
Marisol’s phone buzzes, and she turns away to check a message. That’s when I notice her screen with all her sources neatly listed. Before I can take a picture, Marisol turns back to me.
“Can you watch my stuff for a minute, Dominic? My mom left my clarinet at the office. I need to go get it.”
Heck yeah! I waste no time whipping out my phone. I scroll up and see that her entire paper is here.
